Don't take fire safety lightly
The owner of an Indian restaurant in Gloucester has pleaded guilty to ten breaches of the Fire Safety Order (2005) and been ordered to pay £1,900 in fines.
There has been increased activity within the indian restaurant sector to ensure that owners are complying with fire safety legislation, one of the common issues is that the building is used for sleeping accommodation by staff, in a lot of cases it has been found that there are inappropriate or no automatic fire detection provided to protect persons who sleep on the premises.
